Biostimulators

Biostimulators are injectable products like Radiesse and Sculptra that stimulate the body to produce collagen for improved skin laxity, quality and volume. These biostimulators create a mild inflammatory response that triggers the body's collagen rebuilding process when injected into the skin. As new collagen forms gradually over months, the treated areas appear tighter, fuller, smoother, and more youthful. Commonly used on the face, neck,decolletage and hands, biostimulators offer long-lasting results with proper maintenance. Multiple treatment sessions are often required.

HA fillers and biostimulators are often confused to be the same thing. This is because they deliver some similar benefits to your skin, including plumping and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.

However, the two treatments are actually quite different from one another. Dermal fillers provide volume, biostimulators are designed to stimulate collagen with minimal changes to volume. Stimulating collagen results in skin tightening, improved texture & firmness.

In addition, dermal fillers work immediately, and biostimulators stimulate collagen production with results visible at 4-6 weeks and continuing to improve over the next several months.

Subtle results can typically be seen within a month of Sculptra or Radiesse injection. These results will continue to build as new collagen can take up to 6 months to form. Sculptra and Radiesse results can last up to 2 years (but it depends on each patients’ immune system and skin).
